1.When is it held?

Every Saturday from 14:00 to 17:00
(excluding the period between Christmas and New Year)

2.What is the timetable?

Time magazine session : from 14:00 to 15:00
Discussion session : from 15:00 to 17:00,
( You may enter any time during the session, but please enter quietly.)

3.Where is the place?

4.Do I need to book my place in advance?

No. What you need is only a 500 yen coin.

5.Do you require a certain level of English?

Participants are mainly Japanese. Their level of English is relatively high.
As long as you are able to read this page, you are eligible to participate. Many people have difficulty understanding English first, but after several times, they start to enjoy the discussion, so please give it a try.

6.What is the average age of participants?

From 20s to 80s, students to highly experienced people, the age differentiation is so varied. (Do not hesitate to take part.)

7.What is the ratio of male and female participants?

There are a few more males than females. However, females tend to speak up more.

8.Do I need to bring something?

If you attend the Time session, you need the latest issue of the Time magazine(English version) with you .
From 15:00 the discussion session, you'd better bring a dictionary and a pen to take notes.

9.Is it possible to try it first?

Yes, you may, but a500yen is needed.

10.What kind of session do you have?

Time magazine session 14:00 to 15:00
Please bring the latest Time magazine with you. Participants will make a presentation of a chosen article.

Discussion session from 15:00 to 17:00
Discussion of mainly social issues. The topic will be chosen using majority rule. You are welcome to suggest any theme.

11.Don't you have a second-party after these sessions?

After 17:00, we have a chat time at a coffee bar till 18:00. Anybody is welcome to join this Japanese chat. After 18:00, you might see several drinkers going to the next party.

12.What kinds of participants do you have?

We cannot categorize our members at all. Our members include people of various generations and occupations including students, interpreters, translators, English teachers, housewives, professors, lawyers, consultants, business persons, journalists, retired, job seekers, engineers and so on.

13.How much is the total fee?

For two sessions, only500yen. Japanese chat at the coffee bar may also be 500 yen, the second party it is up to your appetite and how much you drink.
